MISEP

Aims

MISEP network collects and shares information on labour market policy measures in the Member States in order to support decision-making and to share experience and best practice between Member States. The aim of the MISEP network is to maintain up to date information and documentation on labour market policies. The network also links with the Mutual Learning Programme of the EES .

History

The MISEP network was set up in 1982 following an informal agreement between the European Commission (DGV at the time) and the Member States. Initially, the emphasis was on providing mutual information for the labour administrations of the Member States. Subsequently, the function of informing a broader public about labour market policy measures was added and since 1994, MISEP has been increasingly responsible for monitoring measures against the background of the recommendations for an integrated European Employment Strategy first adopted at the European Council in Essen. Membership of the MISEP network includes senior employment ministry officials as well as senior officers from the public employment services.

Activities

MISEP consists of a group of national correspondents assisted by the Core Team of the EEO. The correspondents meet twice a year (Meeting Reports). At these meetings new developments are reported and information on the impact of specific policy measures is exchanged. Members

The correspondents are nominated by the national ministries and departments responsible for employment and the labour market and/or the public employment services.
