Quarterly Reports Executive Summary

January 2008

This report presents an executive summary of the national quarterly reports submitted by the SYSDEM correspondents from 30 European countries to the European Commission in January 2008. The reports cover employment and labour market policy developments occurring in the last quarter of 2007.

The purpose of the executive summary is to provide an overview of:

General employment policies across the Member States;
Employment policies aimed at attracting more people to enter and remain in the labour market;
Employment policies aimed at increasing adaptability of workers and enterprises;
Employment policies aimed at investing more, and more efficiently, in human capital.
