The governor of the OAED chairs the board of directors, which consists of two representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, one representative from the Ministry of Development, four employee representatives appointed by the General Confederation of Labour (one of whom is appointed vice-chair), two representatives for the employees of the OAED elected in accordance with the amendments to Art. 30 of Law 1836/89, and five employer representatives (one of whom is appointed vice-chair). The board of directors decides on the procedures for implementing government policy in all the areas in which the OAED operates.
