2.5.Matching Labour Supply and Demand

Up to now, unemployed persons have been registered by the OAED and then placed, in accordance with their qualifications and skills, in vacancies registered by employers. At the same time, the National Employment Observatory (EPA) is carrying out studies on the stocks of supply and demand on the domestic labour market. The EPA reports to the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the OAED and cooperates directly with these by providing the information necessary for elaborating employment policy and taking measures to match labour supply and demand (see Chapter II, 3.4 on the EPA). The activities of the Employment Promotion Centres (see Chapter I, 2.1) render placement of jobseekers in employment more efficient, more methodical and more effective. Private placement agencies for certain occupational groups have recently been established (see Chapter II, 2.1).
