3.3.3.GR-iii.3 Support for new entrants to the labour market


3.3.3.1. Target group

Unemployed persons aged between 20 and 29 entering the labour market for the first time

3.3.3.2. Legal basis

Law 1545/85, Art. 2.

3.3.3.3. Contents

A grant of GRD 25,000 per month, plus GRD 1,000 for each dependent child and spouse (provided the latter is not in receipt of benefits) for up to five months.

The most important conditions of entitlement are as follows:

  • - (men only:) completion of basic military service, unless an official exemption has been granted,
  • - registration as unemployed within three months of the applicant's twentieth birthday, discharge from the army or exemption from military service; in the case of school-goers and students, registration within three months of completing or terminating the course of study or within two months of the end of the academic year in which the studies were broken off.
