3.3.9.GR-iii.9 Integrated Support Programme with special training measures for the unemployed, support for enterprises and support for new enterprise
3.3.9.1. Aim
This programme offers support to enterprises employing persons who have lost their jobs through:
a) mass dismissal, or
b) restructuring of economic sectors.
3.3.9.2. Legal Basis
Law 1262/82, Art. 19; Law 1836/89; Law 2639/98 and Law 2434/96.
3.3.9.3. Contents
The aim of the programme is to integrate into the labour market specific groups of unemployed and to offer these groups support for at least two years. The programme has the added aims of stimulating growth at local level, dealing with social problems ensuing from mass dismissals, increasing the competitiveness of the enterprises and maintaining workers in their areas of residence.
Support is also provided to new entrepreneurs who were previously unemployed and belong to either category a) or b) above. Other aims of the Integrated Support Programme are orientation for the unemployed, the introduction of training measures and the introduction of measures to promote the regional mobility of unemployed workers when their local labour market is not capable of accommodating a large number of unemployed.
